Microwave cake

17 Oct

I got to have my first microwave cake at Alex’s.

A cake in under 10 minutes that was magic!

So I was curious and had to learn this magic, so here we go

What you need

  • Microwave
  • Self raising flour (if you know how to mix baking powder and home baking flour then you can try that also, I never seem to get the ratios right)
  • Vanilla flavouring
  • Cocoa powder
  • Sugar
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Salt
  • Raisins

Mix the ingredients well.

Put them to a 1/3 level of the container.

Set the microwave for 4 minutes. (This depends on the container, if you have a cup set 3 minutes, if you have a large bowl set 7 minutes).

Check if the cake has cooked inside with a fork

You then have your microwave cake

Microwaves cakes tend to be spongy, you can add chocolate, maple syrup or have them with custard [Alex ;-)] and have them for dessert

Try it out and let me know, enjoy

That looks quite nice – How did you find it? The beautiful thing is that it only took a matter of a few minutes!

This is an interesting development on your new-look blog, Mackel9 – a post about cooking and baking. What could be more rewarding than working through a nice recipe, watching as your creation comes to life and all the while taking some photos of the process. Fine cooking involves both the scientific (logical) and the artistic (creative) aspects of your personality. Do it well and you are guaranteed years of pleasure and discovery and not only in your own kitchen!
I’ll try this one out soon and see how it goes. Thanks for sharing.

    More cooking posts please. πŸ™‚

Haha, Thank you Sir. I share the mundane stuff i experience and a cake in seven minutes was a must share. As a bachelor I only know those quick fix recipes and I am sure every bachelor who loves a home cooked meal knows it. But when I discover new interesting recipes I will sure share πŸ˜‰

Haiya! Mr M, clearly I need to start a microwave cooking school. Hahahaha!

Now that you’ve given away the recipe to my favourite party trick, I have to find something else to shock and awe my guest with. Dammit.

PS. Try cold vanilla yoghurt, instead of the custard, with warm cake. Almost as good, and faster.

Alex, you sure should, I’ll be your first student to enroll πŸ˜‰
Oh snap, it was a secret? But sharing is caring ey?
That yoghurt seems like way less work than custard πŸ™‚
